Item note: Announced as item 57b. No further info on this item. Then 57c. No further info on rest of items on tape 26, recorded in Lango. Except that it includes celebrations for official day of the Won Nyazi (the titular head of Lango, includes okeme and flute items); Tape no. 62.12 is announced before the start of this section (large okeme lamellaphone group with flute and with choral singing). Some individual tunings also taken. Last item on track B is announced as no. 45 and is of Lango tuned drum set - Min bul. John Blacking announces all the items on this tape. His documentation not available in 1968. Most of this side of tape is overmodulated on original. item 63a is of lively child soloist and children's chorus with drums (mic. very close to drums) 63b is same child plus chorus and high pitched drums and later a rattle. 64a is on tape no. 'U 13'. and of tuned drum set with singing. 65a is of large okeme group with whistle and rattles - brief. Then choral singing with whistle 65b is of okemes (small one close up) with solo singer also close - large chorus also, and one flute and whistle. 'Tape U9 no 45' follows with tuned drum set again played on its own. 45b is just before end - tape runs out on 45c. Recording note: Recorded at 3 3/4 ips.
