Description
David Rycroft gives a lecture about the serpent instrument form the eighteenth century. I can here children's voices in the background, which suggests that this may have been recorded at a school Christmas concert (the box is labelled Xmas Concert 1985). He gives demonstrations and provides the history of the instrument. the dynamic level of the recording keeps changing and there is a lot of talking and movement around the microphone. This ruins the quality of the recording.
