  • Description

This is an excerpt from the izinganekwane labelled 'Yimi baba'. This is a sung section, known as an 'igama' (song in Zulu). The tape box is marked 'Folktales (Magogo)'. There is no further written documentation, but these recordings seem to be dubbings of his field recordings made in KwaZulu Natal in 1964. This is an excerpt of Princess Magogo singing an 'igama' (song) which has an inganekwane folktale as its text. This song is followed by a spoken explanation about the same inganekwane tale.
