Description
Item note: Ikyevugo (recitation). Bufumbira is one of the old volcanic peaks right on the border where mountain gorillas still exist and Bufumbira county is the area on the Ugandan slopes of the mountain. Performance note: Recited unaccompanied. Performer's note: Singer was one of the abaseengo dancers. The abaseengo playing the iseengo flutes were formerly musicians to the local king who was son of one of the Rwandan kings sent to rule over this area. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is PC30.A10 [announced as item 4].
