Item note: Popular Soga song. Visit made to give students chance of fieldwork and use of tape recorder. Performance note: This recording features Mulere [notched flue], Ndingidi [single string tube fiddle] - covered with monitor lizard skin; playing technique - uses 4th finger for two different notes. Recording note: Some overmodulation on this tape. Recorded at 3 3/4 ips. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is PCUG1964-8.20.A8 [announced as item 10].
