Item note: Esheegu music. Performance note: This recording features Engoma drum, Ensaasi (oburengo) rattle and Esheegu cone flutes; Mr. Kinengyere plays Enyahuro (the highest in pitch) and he takes the accompanying recitations composed by himself; Nyakafure and Buhambana play Encwa (of mid pitch) producing one note only; Kihungu and Kabyemera play Enkombeezi (the lowest in pitch) producing one note only [for diagrams of the drums see Peter Cooke file in Sound Archive office]. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is on TAPE PC 8, TRACK A, item no. 22.
