Description
Performance note: This recording features two Khimileli notched bamboo flutes with two stops each. Note hocketing techniques and mixture of playing and singing. Performer's note: Namwiremi is son of Wakulua of the Bwagogo clan and he plays the Muzezza [male flute] and sings. Antonio Wati, brother of Namwiremi, plays the Mukassi [female flute]. Recording note: Recorded during a visit to Khumulele: wedding flute players, Bwagogo, Manjiya County, Bugishu. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is on TAPE PC 5 TRACK B item No. 21.
