Description
Recording arranged by Hilary Logwe (notes by Anna Gourlay). Recording not completed owing to the need to return across the river before it became impassable following a storm. No titles or translations available (except for Item 84, which was sung in Karamojong) as no one knew the language. Explanations given are those of our contact, whose English comments are evocative rather than grammatical. These were the 'wildest' people I have encourntered; this recording was sufficient to establish that their singing style had nothing in common with the Karamojong. Girls' songs and possibly a women's song.
