African harmony: *in this recording it appears that the scalar source of the vocals and the mbira appear to be different but related, perhaps different steps of the same scalar source. *The vocal chorus uses homophonic parallelism as its primary means of harmonization. Different intervalic combinations are used by the chorus in this recording. *mbira is used to play a harmonized ostinato using inherent patterns, rhythmic harmony, and parallel dyads played broken
