African Harmony: *vocals use homophonic parallelism applied to the scalar source. *Flute uses liner development and broken parallel dyads, parallel arpegios. Indicating knowledge of african harmonic processes. *Guitar plays a "tumbao" rhythm 9see afro cuban tumbao rhythm for idea). *guitar part is feint, but appears to be playing parallel dyads and switching to chord vamping a V-I progression which are parallel dyads moving back and forth over a pedal note.
