    P. Christie talks about the North Devon Savages. Quote from ‘Heathenism in Devonshire’ in The Times for 16th November 1869 which talks about a poaching case and then goes on to describe the Cheriton / Bragg family of Nymet Rowland. The family came to the area in 1798, they owned 32 acres.
