Paul and Rebecca met through an online dating website and were in a relationship for about 18 months. They discuss the initial stages of the relationship when they met online and the pitfalls of online dating. Paul is a soldier and lost his arm in Afghanistan in 2011. He talks about how he felt when he first found out about his injuries and the effect it has had on him since. Rebecca is a single mum and talks about the difficulties of dating and going on holiday. They also discuss the reasons why they split up, talking about commitment and the need for attention.
The Listening Project conversations collectively form a picture of our lives and relationships today. Recordings were made by BBC producers of people sharing an intimate conversation, lasting up to an hour and on a topic of the speakers' choice.
