In this selection of extracts writers describe, with characters and perhaps structure in place, what happens between the first and final draft. Speakers (in order of appearance): Hilary Mantel, Hilary Spurling, Philip Hensher.
Description
This is a compilation of short extracts from life story oral history interview recorded by National Life Stories for the Authors' Lives project. They were published on a CD 'The Writing Life' and the individual tracks have been grouped together into themed clusters.
