This recording was made by Iona Opie in August, 1980, as she recorded her six year old granddaughter, Elizabeth Opie, reciting and discussing children's playground games and songs. Elizabeth sings a selection of clapping songs throughout the recording. These are: 'When Susie Was a Baby' [00:00:00 - 00:01:00] and [00:07:25 - 00:09:40]; 'A Sailor Went to Sea, Sea, Sea' [00:01:05 - 00:02:01]; 'Have You Ever, Ever, Ever?' [00:02:11 - 00:04:25]; 'I'm Popeye the Sailor Man' [00:04:30 - 00:04:51]; 'Em Pom Pee' [00:04:52 - 00:05:24] and [00:05:25 - 00:05:45]; 'Under the Bram Bush' [00:06:00 - 00:06:40] and [00:06:50 - 00:07:07] and 'The Cutest Boy' [00:10:15 - 00:10:58].
