Abstract
Part 1 of 1. [00:00:00 - 00:06:57]. This recording was originally made by Marlene Neilly, the 'adjustment teacher', at Greendykes Primary School, Edinburgh, in 1975. The tape was then re-recorded by Iona Opie for her own collection. The sound quality is therefore poor and many of the songs are difficult to hear. The songs that can be heard on the recording are the singing games: 'On a Mountain' [00:00:10 - 00:00:26]; 'Knees Up Mother Brown' [00:00:27 - 00:01:03]; 'Nellie the Elephant' [00:03:15 - 00:03:24]; 'O Susie Anna' [00:03:25 - 00:04:02] and 'Skip to m'Lou' [00:04:03 - 00:04:14]. The following skipping songs are also audible: 'There She Goes' [00:01:30 - 00:02:20]; 'Jelly on a Plate' [00:04:50 - 00:05:10]; 'High, Low, Dolly, Pepper' [00:05:11 - 00:05:18]; 'Grandma in the Kitchen' [00:05:57 - 00:06:06]; 'Vote, Vote, Vote for 'X' [00:06:07 - 00:06:19] and 'All in Together' [00:06:29 - 00:06:45].
