    Part 12: Tape 7 Side B. Talks about working in the factory. Sister moved to UK and BG saved to join her. Step-mother died beside BG in bed in 1953/4 in May. BG devastated. Describes death. After stepmother’s death moved in with her birth mother. BG aged around 16 or 17. Mother had a large place and she gave BG a room. Was a difficult experience – was not used to living with her mother and her siblings were jealous of BG. Talks about the boyfriends she had as a girl and the time her mother invited her first boyfriend to meet her. BG hid. Reaction at menstruation. Talked to own children about reproduction. Describes her lack of knowledge about reproduction. BG wanted to come to UK to join sisters. Describes life living with birth mother. Describes first impressions of UK. Left Jamaica 1955. Describes the belongings she brought to UK.
