Part 22. Joanna Drew [JD] comments on meeting with André Masson [AM], refers to David Sylvester's [DS] friendship with conductor Diego Masson. Remarks on Max Beckmann and pupil, Moshashenksa, in relation to 1964 Tate exhibition. Comments on Tate's lack of interest in inter - war German art during 1960s before influence of Marlborough Gallery and Alan Bowness. Describes Elizabeth Ogilvie [EO] drawing; describes Picasso drawing, mentioning Roland Penrose [RP] and circumstances relating to Picasso gift at his home in Mougins. JD describes drawing, referring to its inclusion in 1980s Tate exhibition. Comments on involvement in Picasso exhibition of Graphic Work 1956.; works borrowed from Kahnweiler, Gallery Louise Leiris. Refers to remarks by Lawrence Alloway; comments on cost of case making for art works. Details of 1967 meeting with Picasso, including reference to Jacqueline Roque [JR] and RP's wife Lee Miller [LM]; remarks on LM's photographs of occasion. JD relates anecdote about Picasso and JR.
