Part 29. Comments on living in America; moved to San Francisco, Marin county; came across Rothko for the first time; did some nude paintings there. Discussion of Anthony Fry’s [AF] paintings during this time; landscape and large scale works; show in New York at Durlacher Brothers Gallery; mentioned Leicester Gallery show. Comments on BH and the children returning to England; AF stayed on in New York for six months; had Pollock’s old studio on 42nd Street; remarks on knowing Lee Krasner (Pollock’s widow) who he rented the studio from. Describes returning to New York with John Sainsbury to collect his things from the studio; comments on paintings he did there; landscapes related to Marin county.
