Abstract
Part 1. Harry Weinberger (HW) born April 1924, in Berlin. Older brother, younger sister. Early life in Berlin. Childhood memories. Russian painter, Oscheroff. HW's early drawing and painting. Family emigrated to Czechoslavakia when Hitler came to power. Grandparents. HW and sister came to England in 1939, parents went to Switzerland. HW in northern Italy when war finished, visited parents in Switzerland in 1945. Parents died in 1970s, never talked about the past. Memories. Mother had been a secretary before her marriage. Jewish background. Attitude to death.
