User notes for this item

This recording begins with the whining alarm calls of a Grey Squirrel. A nearby Blackbird is also agitated and begins to emit its loud chink alarm call. This develops into a full rattle alarm call at around 50 seconds as the bird flies closer. The hoots of a Tawny Owl can also be heard. The cause of this alarm is not known - individuals could have been disturbed by the presence of the recordist or there may have been a ground predator in the vicinity. Unfortunately we''ll never know!
