Description
A chattering magpie, recorded at Culver in Devon. The magpie may not be one of Britain’s best loved wild birds but it’s definitely one of the most well known. With its distinctive black-white plumage, harsh chattering calls and cocky swagger, this confident bird is found throughout England, Wales, Ireland and lowland areas of southern Scotland. A highly adaptable scavenger, magpies are happy in almost all habitat types ranging from open countryside to inner city areas.
