Rana temporaria : Common Frog - Ranidae

  • Description

At least eight males present visually identified. Behaviour from the recordist diary : the deep, strong sound of one animal was remarkable, almost unreal. Also remarkable was the sensitivity to human approach. Even when standing still, almost out of sight at 10m. the frogs would remain silent. But they did not heed traffic passing at 15 m. from them. Weather conditions: mild, damp, cloudy, little or no wind. Sound description : croaking.
