    Len reminisces about his time as an accomplished local runner. He refers to various local events, such as the Keswick Gala and Workington Sports and recalls several individual races, even running against professional “Powder Hall” runners who raised the standards and could earn decent sums of money. He also mentions the fell runs, which were popular in his youth.
