    Doris talks about how her father came to work on the Thames barges and recalls trips she made with him in the 1930s. The Royal Albert Docks are situated in the East End of London, on the north side of the Thames from Greenwich (to the northwest of Murston). Sittingbourne is a town just to the west of Murston.
