Speaker's note: Aged 21 from Barlow (near Selby), Yorkshire, England. Born 5 March 1896 in Barlow Always. Lived in Barlow until he joined the army. Educated at a Government School in Barlow. Father from Barlow (was a farm labourer) and mother from Brayton. Can read and write in English. Religion: protestant. Occupation: farm labourer. Item note: George reads the Parable of the Prodigal Son (taken from Luke chapter XV, verse 11-32).
