Speaker's note: Aged 35 and from Gordon, Berwickshire (now Scottish Borders), Scotland. Born 13 September 1881. Educated at Gordon and Salashiles at an elementary boarding school. Both his parents were from Gordon. Moved to Galashiles (Selkirhshire) and lived ther between the age of 9 and 20. Can read and write in both English and Scots. Religion: Protestant. Occupation: soldier. Item note: Archibald reads the Parable of the Prodigal Son (taken from Luke chapter XV, verse 11-32).
