    Item notes : Wachmann's original recording no.: 49.01. Item notes : Culture group in available documentation marked as Hoima [Hoima is a district along the northeast shore of Lake Albert in the Rift Valley and the hills above the valley; it is also the capital of Bynyaro Kingdom; the culture group may therefore be Banyoro [Nyoro language] since it is almost certainly the royal band, or it may be Gungu since this is the language spoken in the Hoima district, neighbouring the Nyoro and, further South, the Tooro]. Description needs some modification. Change 'Bynyaro' to 'Bunyoro'. The culture group is almost certainly Banyoro (speaking Runyoro-Kitara language). Gungu is unlikely - the Bagungu are a fishing tribe living along the shores of Lake Albert not very far from Hoima, but I don't think they played these trumpets. Include the name 'amakondere' - the local name for the side-blown trumpet set. A search under amakondere does not produce these important recordings. Lastly it is not clear if it is Wachsmann himself who wrote "almost certainly the royal band" - he would have known, I suspect. Some teams of amakondere players are not necessarily royal trumpeters serving the king - Wachsmann makes this distinction in the documentation of other recordings. The typo and other errors in this Description appear in numerous other recordings surrounding this one.
