Description
Item notes : Wachsmann's original recording no.: 54.30. Item notes : From available documentation: the hunt begins with an explanatory introduction for at least 2'. This is followed by the following: 1. first alarm on horn; 2. alarm by voice; 3. neighbours reply on horns; 4. neighbours raise the vocal alarm; 5. organisation of hunt is discussed; 6. shouting during hunt 'bo 'bo 'bo to frighten the animal so that it remains inside the circle of men; 7. calling the dogs til reel ends. Performer notes : The engwara is one of the Kinyoro names for trumpets, related to the amagwara.
