Ron Spicer talks to John Howson about farming; his father George Spicer (traditional singer); how his father was discovered by folk song collectors Ken Stubbs and Mervyn Plunkett; his own lack of interest in singing in his younger days; memories of Cyril Philips and Scan Tester; playing melodeon as a child; how he started playing pub songs on piano accordion; how he started singing after his father died; meeting other singers (Bob Lewis, the Copper family, etc); learning his father's songs; his choice to accompany some of his songs on accordion.
