Abstract
[interview continued from C1033/296 C3] Bert Brimilcombe talks about Dr Pratt not taking his car down the lanes. Mrs Wedlake had to be carried on a stretcher to be treated when she was having Maurice. People rarely went to hospital. ‘‘Tis all medicine then you see, Mrs Patten, there was no such thing as tablets’. Dentists would occasionally visit the school. He never went to the dentist until he had all his teeth out in 1948. He was without false teeth for a number of months afterwards. One of his dentists was called Dr Bastard.
