    John Parnell (pronounced Perno) the estate foreman (Harry Curtiss was the estate manager). Ted Champ (Sharp mentions a Mr Champ). Richard ‘Dickey’ Adams whose daughter married Charlie Spearing. Suggests contacting Den Letherby whose wife did folk dancing. Mrs Chapman who lived in Magpie alley and had two sons. Anecdote about Morris Chapman coming back from working in the pits in Wales and ‘talking like a Welshman’. Don’t recall Florence Lockett. Anecdote about graffiti about one of the local vicars.
