Abstract
Granny' Bryant talks about where she learnt her tunes and who taught her ‘And I did never take no notice of the pop music see, so I did never bother bout that see’. Going out carolling as a child. Never had any mummers in her village. Wanted to play in Christies Silver Band at Bridgewater, but her mother wouldn’t let her because of the journey to town (mother didn’t like her coming home on her own at night). The mummers were known at Enmore, Nether Stowey and other places in the area, but not in her village.
