Abstract
Austin Wookey talks about organised shooting matches, 50-60 people would turn up. What he enjoyed was the night before when they would go out capturing wild birds and rabbits for use at the following days shoot. Method of capturing the birds with long ash poles and bird nets. Old horn Lant-horns would be used because the subdued light often wouldn’t wake the birds up. Anecdote about when they woke up an old lady while bird catching.
