Description
Item note: Innanga zither song. Performance note: Recited and sung in a mixture of Runyarwanda and Rutwa. Idiosyncratic style. (Compare it with Rujindiri). Performer's note: Nyindo was the son of Musinga, the King of Rwanda who was sent him to rule over Bufumbira county (until banished by the British). Kiyovu had also sung for Musinga also at times. Now retired and living on the slopes of Bufumbira mountains. Former Omutwa singer at the court of 'King' Nyindo t Urwasabahizi. Recording note: Recorded at 3 3/4 ips. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is PCUG64-8.29.A11 [announced as no. 26].
