Description
Item note: Olere flute song. Song composed in 1967 by Pascasius Drawe; song followed by recording of song alone and then individual flutes: sometimes the flutes are notched, sometimes obliquely rim blown; sometimes the flutes are closed and a hole used transverse fashion. Performance note: This recording features: two Olere flutes (notched, four-holed bamboo); three drums (one large, two small); bells. Performer's note: Pascasius Drawe (Metu clan) - Olere; Aureliu Ndringa (Metu clan); All teenage school boys. Recording note: Recorded at 3 3/4 ips. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is PCUG64-8.29.A9.
