Description
Item note: This grinding song is about a huge fellow who was hanged for murder after being betrayed. An event that happened within the last 20 years. There is a much longer and more detailed variant of this. A grinding song often contains sad emotion. Performance note: Grinding carried out by teams of girls, 2-5 (to make flour for beer even 10-15 girls grinding in unison. Songs for this latter activity often have a choral repsonse). Performer's note: Malsa (Martha) Amsolo (Erarak clan). Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is PCUG64-8.22.A12.
