Description
Item note: Nyoro dance song. Performance note: This recording features two Endongo [Ganda lyre]; one Nanga [Acholi zither]; flute and panpipes; Embaire [xylophone]; drums; one Budongo [lamellophone]; one tube fiddle. Performer's note: Both are Ganda. Other performers are Soga, Ganda and Acholi members and so this is slightly different melodically and in the drumming from a typical performance by pure Ganda musicians; there is some flutter tonguing in the flute part. Recording note: Recorded during a visit to the National Theatre to record the National Ensemble of the "Heartbeat of Africa" troupe. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is on TAPE PC 16, TRACK A, item no. 4.
