Description
Item note: Traditional ekinanga harp song. For a diagram of endara see Peter Cooke file in Sound Archive office. Performance note: This recording features one Ekinanga eight stringed bow harp type; the performer bought it from another Mukonjo, right hand playing lower three notes only with thumb and 1st finger; left hand played rest with thumb and three fingers. Performer's note: Wakannanga Siaghira is from Bunyamwera. He teaches a few youngsters in the area and this is his favorite song. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is on TAPE PC 11, TRACK A, item no. 9, 10 and 11.
