Description
Performance note: This recording features Nyamulere flute (one player); two Engoma - Uganda-type drums (double-skin laced; larger beaten with two sticks; smaller used elephant skin on top, cow or goat skin other end: played for weddings, beer paries and at home for entertainment); one dancer bell strap on right leg: 8-10 bells attatched to leather, strapped just below knee; danced by stamping right foot on ground on clapped beat. Performer's note: Apolo - Peter Cooke's guide - sticks on side of drum. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is on TAPE PC 11, TRACK A, item no. 5.
