Item note: Eluma dance. This is a family dance once proscribed by the authorities. Families take it in turn to dance in the arena under the mango tree. Performance note: This recording features three drums mounted on poles and numerous rings of pellet bells on legs of dancers who sing and also play a reed flute ensemble of eluma flutes. Oldest man has largest flute; smallest boy has smallest. Each plays one note. Performer's note: The men of two different families. Near Bundibugyo.
