    Item note: Wedding music. This is a woman's song and can also be sung without flutes. There are analytical recordings following main song in which the smaller flute plays first. Performance note: This recording features two Khimileli notched bamboo flutes with two stops each. Note hocketing techniques and mixture of playing and singing. Flutes are played with index fingers only, right hand beneath left. Right hand modifies pitch of the lowest note at times. Performer's note: These two men are the only ones in this Gombolola (sub-County) who play such flutes. Namwiremi is son of Wakulua of the Bwagogo clan and he plays the Muzezza [male flute] and sings. Antonio Wati, brother of Namwiremi, plays the Mukassi [female flute]. Recording note: Recorded during a visit to Khumulele: wedding flute players, Bwagogo, Manjiya County, Bugishu. Recordist's note: In Peter Cooke's notes, this is on TAPE PC 5 TRACK B item No. 18.
