    Although the 'Gramophone Company' and 'Columbia Graphophone Company' merged (to EMI) in 1931 discs were still issued using the original company names. That means this recording is from the 1930s or early 1940s. Sowt genre of Oman. Ustad Salim Rashid Suri (singer, ‘ūd player). CEI 13778 (second side) ‘ūd solo at end. The piece continues on the second side. Instruments: the ‘ūd lute, violin (kaman), and the mirwās drum. Released on Columbia Records; Matrix number: CEI 13778-1, 'Made in India' by 'Trade Mark of Columbia Gramophone Co Ltd Hayes, Middlesex, England'.
