Item note: From hand written notes in file and on tape box: recorded in Kabajó, on 1982.01.30; Konkino Jata plays the kontinjo [kontingo] plucked lute and sings (2 or 3 men sing); 3 strings, stopper + finger with LH - player [illegible] guitar - no plectrum; Jata a bunukab-drinker + tapper - true Jola, though the Kontijo [kontingo] itself is a Mandinka instrument [hand writing is very difficult to decipher].
