  • Abstract

    Never any tar barrel rolling in Morchard, only at Hatherley and Ottery St Mary. Remembers the foundation stone of the Hall being laid. He used to sing a lot. The Morchard band stopped prior to the War. After the War the ‘Victory Band’ was formed. The hall was used as a hospital during the War. Evacuee’s from London coming to the village. Mrs Heal remembers two boys arriving.
