Description
George Ewart Evans interviews Annie Cable who talks about her working life. She left school at 14 and went into service at Leiston as a kitchen maid (describes the work). When she was 16 she worked as 'second still-room maid' at Rendlesham Hall. She desribes the staff, her job, Lord Rendlesham and the Thelluson family. At 18 she went to work for Viscount Harcourt at Newnham Park, Oxfordshire. 200 loaves of bread a week were made and the Harcourts being Liberal were visited by King Edward VII, Lloyd George and Asquith; she made cakes for the King's visit.
