Michael Kidner's (MK) teaching at Corsham (continued); remarks on MK's relations with other staff at Corsham, the running of Corsham, and on Clifford Ellis; comparison between teaching at Corsham and at Chelsea School of Art; MK's visits to other art schools, including Winchester; MK's connections with Axiom Gallery and Nigel Greenwood; remarks on Lucy Milton Gallery and its support for Systems artists and François Morellet; MK's involvement with the Systems Group, and the impact of American painting (including Morris Louis and Kenneth Nolan) on his work between 1969 and 1972. Discussion of the origins of the Systems Group, with remarks on Malcolm Hughes, Nick Serota and the Whitechapel Gallery exhibition, 1972. Discussion of MK's contribution to Whitechapel exhibition, of his working methods, and of ways of thinking about work; changes in MK's work after the exhibition; friendship with Kenneth Martin.
