C1190/40/05 BBC Voices Recordings Recording made for BBC Voices project of a conversation guided by a BBC interviewer. The conversation follows a loose structure based on eliciting opinions about accents, dialects, the words we use and people's attitude to language. The four interviewees represent three generations of the same family. Philip is the father of Ewan and son of Cecil, while Clifford is Ewan's great great uncle. All four were brought up within six miles of each other in the south of the Isle of Man and have broadly rural, methodist backgrounds.
