A key figure in the development of the atomic bomb, he left the US government's Manhattan Project once it became apparent that Nazi Germany did not have the capability to build a bomb of its own.</dc:description>
        <dcterms:abstract>Part 40: JR talks about his hobbies "my life is my hobby" - he loves walking but has little time for it, he hates reading exam papers but likes to reply in person to people asking for autographs etc. He likes to keep in touch with young people, questions from school children and his thoughts on today's children and he often speaks in schools. His special friends, mostly from work (Barts) friends in Geneva etc. As he is still so busy he often has to refuse invitations to various functions. Spoke on BBC on Nobel Prizes - celebration of 100 year anniversary of 1st Nobel prize.</dcterms:abstract>
