He collaborated with one of the first women from Barts - Patricia Lindop. JR explains the work, using mice and they published 40 papers between them. Later JR also wanted to study radiation effects on offspring of mice but virus infection happened before results could be obtained. Later started study of effects of radiation on humans and possible treatment.
