Description
Recording released on Gramophone/HMV between 1927 and 1929; original issue numbers DB 1547 to 1550 (1547, 1548, 1549, 1550) and on Victor; 11409 to 11412. Matrix numbers: 08321, 08374, 08375, 08376, 08377, 08378, 08322, 08323. This performance was recorded without the Finale rondo (the op. 133 Grosse Fuge is recorded on HMV DB 1559 to 1560). From the discs it appears that the Cavatina is also omitted. The Budapest Quartet subsequently made a complete recording a few years later which was released on Gramophone/HMV (DB 2239 to 2243) and Victor (V 8576 to 8580).
